SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- The No. 22 Sooners racked up another comeback victory on Saturday with a 17-5 explosive win. OU trailed 5-1 heading into the top of the sixth, but sent 13 batters to the plate and scored nine runs in the frame and cruised to a 2-0 start for the second straight year.

The Sooners' offensive output was the most runs scored since the March 22, 2009 game at Kansas State which featured 29 runs. OU has 29 hits in just two games in 2010 and has plated 24 runs.

Caleb Bushyhead led the way in game one of Saturday's doubleheader with three hits and three RBIs, and was joined by Casey Johnson, who also had three hits, and Ross Hubbard and Tyler Ogle, who had three RBIs and four RBIs, respectively.

For the second straight game, OU fell behind early as starter J.R. Robinson allowed three runs in the first two frames.

Despite squandering a scoring chance in the first with runners on second and third, the Sooners rallied in the third and loaded the bases for Ross Hubbard, who delivered a sacrifice fly to center field.

Robinson blanked the Aztecs in the third but exited an inning later as Michael Rocha took the mound. Rocha received the win with two innings of relief, while SDSU reliever Kegan Sharp was handed the loss with three of the nine runs allowed in the sixth inning.

In the big sixth inning, Bushyhead drove in three runs on a double down the right-field line and Ross Hubbard plated two runs and Danny Black also drove in a run.

In the seventh, Casey Johnson blasted a two-run homer and Tyler Ogle helped cap off the scoring with a grand slam in the ninth inning.

Jason Chowning, Anthony Collazo and Jarrett Semler finished off the game for the Sooner bullpen with four scoreless innings. Chowning tossed a career-high 2 2/3 innings with three strikeouts

Oklahoma used 19 position players and 24 overall, including 11 newcomers.
