NORMAN, Okla. -- The University of Oklahoma announced on Friday that 20 home baseball games will be televised locally for the 2010 season. The broadcasts will air via the Sooner Sports Network on Cox Channel 7 in Oklahoma City and Cox Channel 3 in Tulsa.
The games will be simulcast with the OU radio broadcast on the Sooner Sports Network with Chuck Kelly calling the play-by-play and DeWayne Vaughn providing the color analysis.
"This is a win-win situation for everyone involved with our program," said OU Head Baseball Coach Sunny Golloway. "It not only gives us another opportunity to showcase the tradition of Sooner baseball around the state, but it is a great opportunity for those fans who can't make it to Norman to follow more games."
The first game can be seen on Wednesday, March 10 against Houston Baptist. First pitch between the No. 22 Sooners and the Huskies is slated for 3 p.m.
In the last five years, 39 OU games have been seen on regional or national television, with eight telecasts in 2009 and a perfect 8-0 record.
The addition of the televised games in 2010 adds on to the expanded coverage provided by the Sooner Sports Network with KREF 1400-AM serving as the new flagship of OU baseball in 2010. The station will air 50 regular season games while 22 contests will be available state-wide on various stations via the Sooner Sports Network.
In addition to airing on Cox, 19 of the 20 televised games (excluding May 9 vs. Oklahoma State) will also be available in OU All-Access, the premium site on SoonerSports.com, allowing fans everywhere to view the games. All-Access subscriptions are available in monthly ($9.95) and annual ($99.95) packages. Find out more here.
