Boomer Blessings: OU's Day of Giving

During this season of giving, it was OU's way of giving back to some of the local communities that give so much in support of the athletics program, its coaches, student-athletes and support staff.
More than 130 Athletics Department staff members and student-athletes volunteered for the effort. They were split into groups to serve in a variety of ways on a number of different projects including:
Feed the Children - Staff and student-athletes spent the day at the donation facility in Oklahoma City stuffing backpacks and unloading and sorting food donations.
Habitat for Humanity - OU assisted on two different demolition projects in the Norman area. One of the homes was being remodeled for a family to move in, while the other was being prepared to be torn down. Other staff members spent time making holiday cards to send out to Habitat for Humanity families.
Meals on Wheels - Athletics Director Joe Castiglione and several groups of staff and student-athletes spent the morning delivering meals to families throughout the Norman area.
Thunderbird Clubhouse - Oklahoma staff re-painted the entire inside of an adult group home in Norman and put together holiday baskets to send out as a thank you to their donors.
