THURSDAY'S GAME BASICS
The OU's women's basketball team tips off its season Thursday night at 7 p.m. at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman, Okla. The Sooners host Oklahoma Christian in the first of two exhibitions to be played before the regular season begins. The game will be aired locally on KREF Sportstalk 1400 AM and can be viewed online at SoonerSports.com via the All-Access Webcast.
Tickets
• Season Tickets are available for as low as $140. Tickets may be purchased online at SoonerSports.com or by calling the OU Athletics Ticket Office at 1-800-456-GoOU.
• Single-game tickets will go on sale to the general public beginning Nov. 19. Prices are $15 for reserved seating, $8 for general admission adults and $5 for general admission youths and senior citizens. OU students receive free admission when presenting a valid ID.
Promotions
• The OU Drum Line Team will makes its 2010-11 debut at halftime.
• The official women's basketball team posters and schedule cards will be available to fans on the concourse near entry points of the arena.
The Teams
• Oklahoma Christian and Oklahoma are meeting for the fourth consecutive time in the preseason and are playing an exhibition for the ninth time in 10 years. OU has won each matchup by an average margin of 45 points.
• Oklahoma begins the preseason ranked No. 9 in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches' Poll and No. 10 in the Associated Press Poll.
The Coaches
• Sherri Coale is 313-143 (.686) in her 15th season at Oklahoma. She has been the Big 12 Coach of the Year four times.
• Oklahoma Christian head coach Stephanie Findley (497-298, .625) is in her 25th season at the helm of the Lady Eagles. Findley has taken OC to the NAIA National Tournament 12 times, including nine of the past 11 seasons.

PREVIEWING OKLAHOMA
The Sooners were picked by the league's coaches to finish third in the Big 12 Conference this season. The media has Oklahoma 10th in the Preseason Associated Press Poll and the USA Today/ESPN Coaches' Poll has Oklahoma at No. 9.
The Sooners enter 2010-11 following back-to-back trips to the Final Four. OU returns eight letterwinners from the squad, including three starters, and introduces six newcomers.
Preseason All-American Danielle Robinson leads the team after a standout junior season in which she averaged 16.8 points and 5.3 assists.
Redshirt sophomore Whitney Hand, who suffered an ACL injury five games into the 2009-10 season is expected back on court in January 2011.
Team Votes Captains for 2010-11
Redshirt-sophomore Whitney Hand and seniors Danielle Robinson and Carlee Roethlisberger are co-captains of the Sooners this season. The captains were voted by their teammates.
D-Rob Racking Preseason Honors
Senior guard Danielle Robinson has been touted as the game's top point guard this season, and the watch lists have given notice as she appears as a candidate for virtually every award.

PREVIEWING OKLAHOMA CHRISTIAN
Oklahoma Christian has already begun it season, taking a 102-56 victory against Hillsdale Baptist College (Okla.) Monday, Nov. 1,at the Eagles' Nest in Oklahoma City.
On the heels of five three-point baskets and a total of 21 points between returning starters Krista Stevens and Roz Hamilton, the Lady Eagles cruised to a 17-point lead at the end of the first period.
The Lady Eagles opened the second half with a 10-3 run to increase their margin to a 24-point lead with 17:41 still left to play. Four minutes later, the Lady Eagles expanded to a 30-point lead as the Lady Saints struggled to retaliate.
Stevens led the OC women from the perimeter with 17 points and seven rebounds on the evening. Fellow guards Katy Clift, Tarynn Branscum, and Ayanna Jackson left the court boasting 15, 11, and eight points, respectively. Clift grabbed seven rebounds and four steals in the process while Jackson registered six rebounds and five assists. Branscum helped keep tempo on offense for the Lady Eagles as she handed out nine assists.
SOONERS THIRD IN BIG 12 VOTE
The University of Oklahoma was selected third in the Big 12 Women's Basketball Coaches' Preseason Poll released Oct. 7.
Baylor was chosen as the preseason favorite to win the 2010-11 Big 12 women's basketball regular season title for the second consecutive year. The Lady Bears received all of the possible 11 first-place votes (coaches cannot vote for their own team).
Texas A&M, winner of the 2010 Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Championship, was picked second and nabbed the other first-place vote.
Texas was chosen fourth followed by Iowa State and Kansas. Nebraska, last year's regular season champion, was seventh, followed by Oklahoma State in eighth; Kansas State ninth, Texas Tech in 10th, Missouri 11th and Colorado 12th.

ROBINSON, HAND NAMED PRESEASON ALL-BIG 12
Oklahoma's Danielle Robinson was named to the Preseason All-Big 12 Women's Basketball First Team while injured Sooner Whitney Hand was an honorable mention, announced Oct. 12. It was Robinson's second consecutive year on the preseason team voted by the league's coaches. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own players.
Baylor's Brittney Griner and Melissa Jones, Iowa State's Kelsey Bolte and Texas A&M's Danielle Adams joined Robinson on the Preseason All-Big 12 Team.
