• Oklahoma outscored North Carolina Central 6-2 over the final 1:06 of regulation and then pulled away for a 71-63 overtime win. It was OU's 21st straight non-conference victory at home and the 79th in the last 81 home non-league games.
• OU fell behind 18-17 with 8:38 remaining in the first half and didn't lead again until the 4:46 mark of overtime. Steven Pledger's 3-pointer with 15 seconds left in regulation marked the only tie during the stretch (58-58).
• Oklahoma improved to 6-0 in overtime games under head coach Jeff Capel.
• The Sooners' .328 field goal mark was their lowest in victory since Dec. 23, 2004, when they shot .298 in a 61-53 victory over Southwest Missouri State in Norman.
• The Sooners, who shot .286 from the field through regulation, made all four of their shots in overtime when they outscored the Eagles 13-5.
• After going 0-for-9 from the field in regulation, junior Nick Thompson scored OU's first four points of overtime (two field goals) to give the Sooners a 62-58 lead. Thompson finished with six points and game highs of 12 rebounds and seven assists (second straight game with seven assists).
• Steven Pledger missed his first six 3-point attempts before making a critical pair of treys late in regulation (1:06 and 0:15 remaining). His final 3-pointer tied the score after OU trailed the entire second half. Pledger finished with 14 points despite going 3-for-13 from the floor.
• Andrew Fitzgerald, who scored a career-high 22 points for the second straight game, accounted for 31 percent of OU's total on the night. He scored 12 of the Sooners' first 14 points of the second half. Fitzgerald also added a career-high nine rebounds and a career-high five steals.
• After making just one of their first 19 3-point attempts, the Sooners made their final three attempts of the evening (two in the final 1:06 of regulation and one with 3:14 left in overtime).
• Senior Cade Davis led the Sooners with five points in the extra session. He played 42 out of a possible 45 minutes.
• Freshman Calvin Newell scored in double figures (10 points) for the second straight game (had 13 against Coppin State). The guard added four rebounds and two assists in 26 minutes off the bench.
• OU outrebounded the Eagles 46-34. Almost half of the Sooners' rebounds (22) came on the offensive end.
• The Sooners remain unbeaten against teams currently in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, improving to 25-0 all-time with tonight's victory.
