NORMAN, Okla. -- The Seventh Annual Diamond Dinner set for Friday, Jan. 29 has been postponed due to a winter storm that has hit the state of Oklahoma.  The annual benefit dinner is rescheduled for Friday, Feb. 12 at  the Postal Training Center (2801 East Highway 9) in Norman.

The event, which is open to the public, is set to begin at 7 p.m. with Greg Norton serving as the night's honoree.  The California native was a three-time letterwinner and second team All-American in 1993.  He was a member of the 1991 and 1992 Sooner teams that won 40-plus games and made two NCAA tournament appearances.  In 1992, he was an All-Tournament team member of the NCAA Mideast Regional won by the Sooners prior to the program's seventh College World Series appearance later that season.

The cost to attend is $30 per person and reservations are required.  Fans interested in attending can contact the Oklahoma baseball office at (405) 325-8354.  Fans will not be permitted to attend without reserving a spot in advance.

Current Oklahoma players and coaches will also be in attendance to join the former OU greats for an autograph session.

Kenny Mossman, Associate Athletics Director for Communications will emcee the event for the third consecutive year.

Norton, primarily a third basemen, was selected in the second round of the 1993 draft by the Chicago White Sox and made his MLB debut on August 18, 1996 with the same club. Norton has played the last 13 seasons in the Majors, including last season with the Atlanta Braves.  He has spent the last two years in Atlanta and has also played for Seattle, Tampa Bay, Detroit and Colorado.

The University of Oklahoma Home Run Club is once again the official presenter of the event. Those interested in joining the Oklahoma baseball team's official support group can do so at the banquet, or by contacting the Oklahoma baseball office, with a donation of $50.
