Oklahoma takes another step toward claiming a seventh Big 12 title as the No. 11 Sooners visit No. 22 Iowa State Wednesday, Jan. 27, at 7 p.m. at Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa.

ABOUT THE MATCHUP
Oklahoma is ranked No. 11 by the Associated Press and No. 13 in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches' poll (Jan. 19 edition).
Iowa State is No. 22 in the AP Poll and was 21st in last week's Coaches' Poll.
Oklahoma is 14-4 overall and 4-1 in the Big 12 after defeating Kansas, 81-69, in Norman Saturday, Jan. 23.
Iowa State is 15-3 overall and 3-2 in the Big 12 after winning at Texas, 73-71, in overtime Saturday.

Iowa State and Oklahoma are meeting for the 48th time. The Sooners lead the overall series, 30-17, but the Cyclones have the advantage in Ames, 12-8. Oklahoma has won the last four meetings. OU's win in Ames in Jan. 2008 broke a streak of seven consecutive losses at Hilton Coliseum.

Sherri Coale is 300-136 (.688) in her 14th season at Oklahoma. She has been the Big 12 Coach of the Year four times.
Bill Fennelly is 488-197 (.712) in his 22nd season as a head coach and 322-144 (.691) in his 15th season at Iowa State.
Coale and Fennelly represent the winningest coaches all-time in Big 12 play. Coale leads Fennelly in Big 12 regular-season victories, 140-131.
Win No. 300
Oklahoma's victory over Kansas on Jan. 23 was coaching victory No. 300 for Sherri Coale. Coale is OU's all-time wins and winning percentage leader.
OU's all-time program record is 624-430 (.592). OU is 140-73 (.657) all-time in Big 12 regular-season play.
PREVIEWING OKLAHOMA
The Sooners were picked by the league's coaches to finish fifth in the strong Big 12 Conference this season.
The Sooners enter 2009-10 following one of its best seasons in history. Oklahoma notched a program record 32 wins, won its sixth Big 12 regular season title and made its second trip to the Final Four. OU returns eight letterwinners from the squad, including three starters. PreseasonAll-American Danielle Robinson and senior co-captain Amanda Thompson will lead the charge.

PREVIEWING IOWA STATE
The 22nd-ranked Cyclones will face their fourth ranked opponent in six games Saturday when Iowa State plays host to No. 11 Oklahoma Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Hilton Coliseum. ISU will try to run its Big 12 winning streak to four straight in the contest.
Alison Lacey leads the Cyclones, averaging 18.4 points and a 42 percent 3-point field goal percentage.
After playing host to the Sooners on Wednesday, Iowa State will travel to Kansas State for a 2 p.m. game against the Wildcats on Sunday. ISU will next be at Hilton Coliseum on Wednesday, Feb. 3, to take on Texas Tech at 7 p.m.
This season, ISU will try to continue its success in the Big 12 Conference. The Cyclones have fi nished in the top four of the league's fi nal standings in three of the last five seasons, and Iowa State holds the third best record in Big 12 history (131-82).
Iowa State is in its 37th season of women's basketball and its 15th season under head coach Bill Fennelly. Iowa State is 558-497 in school history.
Coale's Next Win is No. 300
Sherri Coale will be aiming for her 300th coaching win when OU hosts Kansas Saturday, Jan. 23.
Coale's first win came in her first game as OU's head coach, a 62-50 victory over Oral Roberts on Nov. 22, 1996.
The 100th win came 170 games later on Feb. 5, 2002, a 69-60 win over then-No. 10 Baylor at Norman.
Win No. 200 came 141 games later on March 8, 2006, a 78-74 win over Iowa State in the first round of the Big 12 Championship.
Coale Winningest in Big 12
Oklahoma head coach Sherri Coale has a record of 140-73 in Big 12 regular-season conference games.
Coale is in her 14th season coaching the Sooners, all since the BIg 12 formed in 1996-97. Since then, no coach past or present has more wins in league play.
Iowa State's Bill Fennelly and Kansas State's Deb Patterson are the only other active coaches who were at their respective schools when the league was formed.
Thompson Becoming One of a Kind
Senior forward Amanda Thompson, a.k.a. `The Waitress', loves to serve up people. She's only the second Sooner ever -- the other being Courtney Paris -- to record 100 blocks and 100 steals in her career.
Thompson is also nearing her 1,000th point, 750th rebound and 250th career assist, which puts her in a class of her own.
Oklahoma's Wins...and Losses...Are Quality
Oklahoma has played the nation's fourth-toughest schedule, behind only Stanford. Oklahoma's four losses have come to teams currently ranked in the top 15, who share a combined record of 66-9.
RPI
Oklahoma is No. 9 in the NCAA's official RPI calculator following Saturday's win over Kansas. The Sooners are 2-4 versus the Top 25 this season.
Robinson Receiving Charity
OU junior Danielle Robinson finished the 2008-09 season as one of the nation's leading free throw shooters. And this year, she is finding many of her opportunities at the line.
Robinson is 55-of-69 (.797) from the charity stripe this season, including a 22-of-23 (.957) effort in Big 12 games.
Against Texas A&M Sunday, Jan. 17, Robinson made a career high 10-of-11 free throws en route to a 24-point performance and Sooner victory.
