Oklahoma Postgame Notes

January 11, 2010 | Men's Basketball

Jan. 11, 2010

• Oklahoma (10-6, 1-1) posted a 62-57 overtime win over Oklahoma State (13-3, 1-1) on Monday at Lloyd Noble Center.

• The Sooners improved to 5-0 in overtime games under fourth-year head coach Jeff Capel (2-0 this year).

• OU improved to 126-90 all-time against OSU and to 78-26 against the Cowboys in Norman.  The Sooners have won their last six Bedlam contests at home.  They have won six of the last seven meetings overall and nine of the last 12.

• OSU's .275 field goal percentage (19-of-69) was the lowest by an OU opponent since the Sooners held Texas A&M to a .255 figure on March 1, 2008 (span of 58 games).

• Tonight's game marked the first overtime contest in the Bedlam series since OSU won 79-72 in Stillwater on Feb. 13, 2002.  The Sooners are 7-1 in overtime Bedlam contests in Norman with prior wins in 1996 (81-75), 1995 (82-74), 1969 (61-59), 1952 (65-61), 1925 (32-31) and 1916 (57-49).

• Oklahoma scored the game's first eight points with the help of a pair of Tommy Mason-Griffin 3-pointers and used 13-0 second-half run to take a five-point lead at the 6:34 mark after OSU had recorded its largest lead of the contest (42-34 at the 13:32 mark of the second half).

• OSU was held without a field goal the final 4:35 of overtime after Marshall Moses scored the first basket of the extra session (1-of-6 from the field in OT).

• Tiny Gallon scored 13 points and added a career-high 18 rebounds for his sixth double-double (tied for third most in the Big 12).  Gallon secured his double-double in the first half with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

• Gallon's 18 boards were the third most by a Big 12 player this year and the most by a Sooner since Blake Griffin notched 19 against Oklahoma State in last year's Big 12 Championship quarterfinals.

• Mason-Griffin finished with 14 points, four rebounds, three assists and no turnovers in 43 minutes of action.  The 5-11 freshman has handed out 21 assists against just two turnovers over the last four contests (118 minutes of play).

• Willie Warren had 15 points, seven assists and five rebounds in the win.  His seven assists tied for his second most as a Sooner.

• Cade Davis scored nine points, added four rebounds and had his second straight game of three steals.  Davis now ranks fifth in the Big 12 with his 1.8 steals per contest.

• Oklahoma State had four assists for its lowest total since recording four in the 2003 Bedlam contest in Stillwater.

• The Sooners improved to 8-0 at home this year and have won 28 of their last 29 games at Lloyd Noble Center.
