NORMAN, Okla. -- Senior J.T. Wise and junior Jamie Johnson were named to the American Baseball Coaches' Association (ABCA) All-America teams on Wednesday.  Wise was named to the second team and Johnson was selected to the third team.

The teams were voted on by the coaches across the country. Wise and Johnson were both named first team All-Region picks by the ABCA on June 11.

Wise has collected All-America honors by each of the four major outlets (ABCA, Baseball America, Collegiate Baseball and NCBWA).

The All-America selection is the first for Johnson and he joins Wise, Ryan Duke (third team - NCBWA) and Garrett Buechele (Freshman All-American - Collegiate Baseball) as the four honorees this season. OU has never had four separate individuals collect All-America honors in the same season (Freshman selections date back to 1997).

Wise was named a first team All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association (NCBWA) and is a finalist for the Johnny Bench Award, given to the nation's top catcher.  The 2009 Big 12 Player of the Year was also named a second team All-American by Baseball America and Collegiate Baseball

Wise, drafted in the fifth round of the 2009 MLB Draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers, led the Sooners with a .359 batting average and 17 homers.  He was tied for the team lead in RBIs and recorded a .996 fielding percentage behind the plate while throwing out 30 potential base stealers.

Johnson was a first team All-Big 12 selection in 2009 and was picked in the seventh round of this year's MLB draft by the Detroit Tigers.  Johnson hit .353 with 13 home runs, 44 RBIs and 18 stolen bases in his second season as a Sooner.

Johnson enjoyed a solid postseason run and was named to the Big 12 Championship All-Tournament team and Norman Regional All-Tournament team.  In seven postseason games, Johnson hit .444 with three homers and five RBIs. The junior finished the 2009 season hitting safely in 23 of the last 25 games with 11 multiple-hit performances.
