OKLAHOMA CITY -- Three OU baseball players were named to the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship All-Tournament team on Sunday. Juniors Jamie Johnson and Andrew Doyle, and senior J.T. Wise, helped OU hold down three of the 12 spots, and tied tournament champions, Texas, with the most players on the list.
Johnson hit .500 in the three games with six hits, including two doubles, and one RBI. The center fielder also walked three times and was hit by a pitch, good for a .625 on-base percentage.
Wise, the 2009 Big 12 Player of the year, continued his torrid pace into postseason play with a team-best five RBIs. The Sooners' catcher hit .364 in the tournament and connected for a Big 12 Championship record three doubles in Saturday's game against Texas A&M.
Doyle helped set the tone in Wednesday's tournament opener against Texas Tech. Doyle lasted eight innings and allowed two runs, both unearned, off four hits and one walk.
The three honorees is the second most by an OU team since Big 12 play began in 1997. During the first season of the Big 12, OU claimed the inaugural crown and placed five members on the all-tourney team.
