NORMAN, Okla. -- What a difference a year has made for senior catcher J.T. Wise.
He had a solid season a year ago, he just didn't do anything that really jumped out at Major League scouts. As a result, he went undrafted.
Rather than getting down on himself, Wise used the experience as motivation and focused on doing what needed to do to make himself a more complete player.
The results have been paramount. Not only has Wise led the Big 12 in home runs and batting average nearly the entire season, he has thrown out over half of potential base stealers and committed just two errors.
A leading candidate for Big 12 Player of the
Year and semifinalist for the Johnny Bench Award, it's safe to say people are taking notice of what Wise is doing now.
