NORMAN, Okla. -- The No. 11 Sooners and the OU Athletics Marketing Department have a number of promotions set for this weekend's home baseball series against Texas Tech.
Friday's series opener is slated for a 6:35 p.m. first pitch. Saturday's game will begin at 4 p.m. and the series concludes on Sunday at 1 p.m.
GAME ONE - FRIDAY, APRIL 10 - 6:35 p.m.
“Heart Health Awareness Day”
Staff from the Norman Regional Health System will be on-site to administer blood-pressure checks and distribute information to interested fans. Fans can learn about how to promote heart health and recognize the warning signs of a stroke.
Three lucky fans will win a free Heart Scan provided by Norman Regional Health Systems – each scan is valued at $100 each.
The first 1,000 fans will get a free “K” (strikeout) cards.
GAME TWO - SATURDAY, APRIL 11 - 4 p.m.
“Team Photo and Autograph Day”
The first 250 fans will get a free 2009 Oklahoma Baseball team photo and the Sooners will sign autographs following the game (weather permitting).
SPECIAL TICKET OFFER: Fans that attend the Oklahoma Football Spring Game earlier that day can show their ticket stub at the gate at L. Dale Mitchell Park and receive admission to the baseball game for half of the regular admission - $4.
GAME THREE - SUNDAY, APRIL 12 - 1 p.m.
“Mascot Day”
The OU Mascots will make a special appearance at the game. The first 500 kids in attendance will get an OU Mascot Growth Chart.
Inflatable Games for kids at the stadium entrance (pre game) and kids can run the bases and play catch in the outfield following the game (all events are weather permitting).
TICKETS
Seats remain for the Texas Tech series and gates will open 90 minutes prior to first pitch.Tickets are available at the gate, online or by calling the OU Athletics Ticket Office at (800) 456-GoOU. The office is open from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday on the plaza level of the Asp Avenue parking garage.
BROADCAST INFORMATION
In addition to Friday's telecast on SSN, all three games will be broadcast live on KOKC 1520 AM this weekend with Chuck Kelly calling the action.
WATCH BASEBALL LIVE ON FRIDAY
The series opener against Texas Tech on Friday, April 10 can be seen live in the Oklahoma City area on Cox Ch. 7 and in Tulsa on Cox Ch. 3.
First pitch is slated for 6:35 p.m. in Norman at L. Dale Mitchell Park and the game is being carried by the Sooner Sports Network with Brian Brinkley on the play-by-play and Kenny Mossman providing color analysis.
