SAN DIEGO -- Courtney Paris was named one of four finalists for the 2009 Honda Sports Award for women's college basketball Wednesday by the award's selection committee.

In 2009, Paris became the first four-time All-American recognized by the Associated Press and U.S. Basketball Writers Association.  She was also just the eighth to become a four-time honoree of the 10-member State Farm Coaches' All-America team.

Paris led the Sooners in scoring and rebounding, averaging 15.9 points and 13.6 rebounds.  The Piedmont, Calif., native set 20 NCAA records in her career and became the first college basketball player in history, regardless of gender or division, to record 2,500 points and 2,000 rebounds in a career.

Joining Paris as a finalist were Louisville's Angel McCoughtry and Connecticut's Renee Montgomery and Maya Moore.  A nationwide vote of all NCAA senior women administrators will determine the recipient.

The winner of the women's basketball award will become a candidate for the Honda-Broderick Cup, presented annually to the Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year.

In addition to the honor of this selection, American Honda will donate $1,000 to the athletics fund of each nominee's university.  The winner's program will receive $5,000.
