NORMAN, Okla.—The University of Oklahoma women's tennis team faces in-state rival Oklahoma State, Wednesday, Bedlam will begin at 2 p.m. at the Debois Tennis Complex in Stillwater, Okla.
Oklahoma (8-11, 2-6 Big 12) enters Wednesday's match after splitting two weekend road matches. The Sooners defeated Iowa State, 6-1, on Friday before losing to Nebraska on Sunday, 6-1. Wednesday's match against OSU will be Oklahoma's 15th road match this season. The Sooners have played 15 of their 19 matches on the road, including nine against nationally-ranked opponents.
Leading the way for the Sooners is sophomore standout Ana-Maria Constantinescu. Constantinescu holds a team-best 15-2 record in singles at the No. 1 spot, including two wins over nationally-ranked individuals. In doubles, sophomore Tara Eckel and freshman Marie-Pier Huet continue to shine. The duo holds a 12-3 record at the No. 2 doubles spot, and has won 10 of its last 11 matches.
Oklahoma State (9-10, 3-5 Big 12) also split a pair of weekend road matches against Iowa State and Nebraska. The Cowgirls lost to Nebraska on Friday, 4-3, but went on to defeat Iowa State, 5-2, on Sunday.
Oklahoma State holds the all-time Bedlam series advantage, 27-16. The last time the Sooners beat the Cowgirls was on April 13, 2005 in Stillwater, Okla.
