SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The University of Oklahoma varsity four rowing team claimed victory over  the University of San Diego and San Diego State by more than 15 seconds on Mission Bay in San Diego.

The varsity four of Teddi Dwyer, Chelsea Moore, Elena Engles, Meagan Harrell and cox Lauren Price posted a time of seven minutes, 37.08 seconds to defeat San Diego State, who recorded a time of 7:56.47, and San Diego who recorded a time of 7:58.45.

Oklahoma got off to a good start and led at the 250-meter mark where they began to pull away from the competition. At 500 meters, the Sooners opened up a demanding lead that would not be met by the competition.

The varsity four race again at the SIRA Championships in Oak Ridge, Tenn. on April 18.
