NORMAN, Okla. -- No. 13 Oklahoma (29-11 overall) will look for its 11th win in midweek games this season on Wednesday, April 22 at home against Wichita State (20-18).  First pitch at L. Dale Mitchell Park is slated for 7:05 p.m.

The Shockers are 14-13 in non-conference action this season and host Oklahoma State on Tuesday night.  WSU is 1-4 against Big 12 competition in 2009 with a win against Nebraska and losses to Kansas, Oklahoma and Kansas State (2). 

Wichita State was picked third in the Missouri Valley Conference after winning the title a year ago with a 19-5 record.  The Shockers were 48-17 last year after losing to Florida State in the Tallahassee Super Regional.   Returning from the 2008 team are 14 letterwinners.

BROADCAST INFORMATION
Wednesday's game will be available on the Sooner Sports Network (KOKC 1520 AM) with Chuck Kelly calling the play-by-play.   Live audio can also be found on the internet via Oklahoma All-Access.  The game will be televised on Cox channel 7 in OKC and on channel 3 in Tulsa.  A live webcast will also be available on All-Access. 

PLAYER TO WATCH - JAMIE JOHNSON
The Sooners' center fielder has caught fire as of late with a .429 batting average in the last four games.  Johnson is 6-for-14 in that span with four RBIs.  The junior was 3-for-5 with four runs scored and another driven in during the first meeting at Wichita State on April 8.

UP NEXT
The Sooners travel to No. 9 Baylor for a Big 12 series over the weekend.  The three-game set begins on Friday, April 24 at 6:30 p.m.  Saturday's game is slated for a 1 p.m. first pitch and will be televised live on Fox Sports Southwest.  The series will conclude on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.  All three games can be heard live on The Sooner Sports Network - KOKC 1520 AM.

MORE ON THE OU-WICHITA STATE SERIES
The Sooners last met the Shockers in Wichita earlier this season on April 8 and won 15-0.   Oklahoma has won the last five meetings, dating back to the two postseason victories in the 2006 Norman Regional.

LAST TIME OUT
Oklahoma started the week with a 7-5 victory over No. 16 TCU at home on Tuesday before getting swept in three games (7-3, 6-2, 8-5) at No. 10 Texas over the weekend.  The sweep marked the Sooners' first series defeat of the season.

OU IN BIG 12 RANKS
The Sooners can be found up and down the Big 12 statistics  for overall games released on April 16.  The Sooners' offense leads all conference teams in batting average (.331), runs (353), hits (454), homers (63) and RBIs (323).   OU is one of two teams in the Big 12 to be hitting over .300 overall and in conference action (Kansas State). 

TOUGH REMAINING SCHEDULE
With the exception of UT-Arlingon and Southern Utah, each of the Sooners' final 16 regular season games will come against teams ranked in the top 25 at some point this season.  Included in those final 16 games are 7 against teams in this week's polls (Baylor - 3, Arkansas and Texas A&M-3).  Throughout the season, OU will face 12 opponents, for a total of 27 games, that participated in last year's NCAA Tournament, including nine teams that finished the season ranked in the top 25.

MIDWEEK SUCCESS
The Sooners have had success in the midweek games under head coach Sunny Golloway.  OU has won nine straight midweek games this season with three wins over ranked opponents.  OU is 10-1 this season and 42-7 all-time under Golloway.  OU was 15-1 in midweek contests last season, a mark that helped propel them into the NCAA Tournament.

SCORING FIRST
OU has scored first in 23 games this season with a 17-6 record in those contests.  The opposition  has tallied the game's first run on 17 occasions but OU is 12-5 in those situations.  The Sooners have scored first in nine of the last 13 games and in nine of the 15 conference games.

THE BIG INNING
OU has hit through the batting order on 17 occasions this year and scored five or more runs in 14 different frames.  OU is 11-1 when the plate five or more runs in a game.   The only loss came in the second game of the San Diego series.  The Sooners had two big innings (5-plus runs) in game three of the WIU series and game three of the KSU series.
