AUSTIN, Texas -- The No. 9 Sooners were unable to come back after giving up five runs in the second inning as they fell 7-3 in game one of the Big 12 series at No. 10 Texas on Saturday at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.

Oklahoma fell to 29-9 overall with the loss and 8-5 in Big 12 play.  Texas improved to 27-8 and 10-6.

The Sooners fell behind early as the Longhorns posted five runs in the bottom of the second inning.  Andrew Doyle (5-3) allowed three earned runs in the frame off three hits and two OU errors led to two unearned runs.

Aaron Baker put OU on the board and cut the lead to three runs in the top of the fourth inning.  With one out and Matt Harughty at first, Baker drove his 10th home run of the season over the fence in right field.

In the bottom of the sixth, Texas increased its advantage to four runs after Cameron Rupp grounded into a double play with zero outs and runners on first and third.

Back-to-back RBI doubles by Garrett Buechele and Cameron Seitzer scored a run in the Sooners' seventh inning but Texas regained four-run lead in the bottom of the eighth.  The seventh and final run ended Doyle's outing which resulted in his first loss since March 20 at Kansas State.

Doyle gave up seven runs, five earned, on eight hits and a walk, while his counterpart, Chance Ruffin, improved to 6-2 after 6 1/3 innings of work.  Ruffin limited OU to three runs off seven hits and struck out 10 batters.

The OU offense had its chances after loading the bases in the seventh and putting runners on first and third in the ninth, but stranded eight runners in the game.  Casey Johnson led the charge with two hits in the contest.
