Beleleu Named Academic All-Big 12

IRVING, Texas – Sophomore Ionut Beleleu was named to the Academic All-Big 12 Men's Tennis First Team, announced by the Conference Friday.

This is Beleleu's first appearance on the Academic All-Big 12 team. The finance major from Zalau, Romania, was one of 17 first team members.

First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA.

To qualify student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 60 percent of his/her team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.

Big 12 Conference Release

Next up, the Sooners travel to Lubbock, Texas, for their final regular season match of the year. Following action against the Red Raiders, OU will begin preparation for the Big 12 Championships, which will be held in Norman, April 24-26.
