Sooner Profile: Garrett Buechele

NORMAN, Okla. -- Not often does a redshirt freshman come in and have an immediate impact on an experienced team.
 
Count Garrett Buechele among the select few. Buechele has quietly been one of OU's best hitters throughout the year and, at the midway point of the season, stands at over a .400 clip.
 
Considering it's his first go-round in college baseball, this may come as a surprise to some. Buechele, however, has never been intimidated by the size of the stage.
 
The son of a former major leaguer, Buechele grew up in baseball's grandest cathedrals surrounded by the game's biggest names. In addition to offering some fine tutelage, the experience taught him to live for the moment and play for the love of the game.
 
That's exactly what Buechele is doing this year, and what will only lead to further success in the future.
