NORMAN, Okla. -- The No. 11 OU baseball team announced a change in this weekend's home schedule against Texas Tech. Due to impending inclement weather in Norman on Saturday night and throughout the day on Sunday, the Sooners and Red Raiders will play a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 11 at L. Dale Mitchell Park. The second game on Saturday will begin approximately 30 minutes after the completion of game one.
"During the initial scheduling of the weekend, we planned very carefully to keep any overlap to a minimum," said OU Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics and Athletics Director Joe Castiglione. "Unfortunately, the weather has forced us to make some changes. It is imperative that we get our baseball games played, especially in light of the fact that this is a Big 12 series. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our fans."
Saturday's game was originally slated for a 4 p.m. start in order to accommodate fans looking to attend the OU football spring game at 1:15 p.m. and baseball later in the day.
Fans that have purchased tickets for Sunday's baseball game can present them at the gate for general admission to both contests on Saturday. In addition, fans who attend the OU football spring game can use that ticket stub for $4 admission to either baseball game on Saturday.
The series is slated to start on Friday night at 6:35 p.m. The Sooners (26-7 overall, 6-3 Big 12) will start Andrew Doyle opposite the Red Raiders' (16-20, 6-6) Brian Cloud.
