TAMPA, Fla. -- The Sooners fell behind early but scored three runs in the top of the third and never looked back during a 10-1 victory over South Florida on Saturday.

Aaron Baker drove in three runs, including a two-run home run in the go-ahead frame as OU improved to 2-0 in the USF Bulls Baseball Classic.  The win also marked the 10th straight for No. 15 Oklahoma which improved to 17-3 overall.  The Bulls dropped to 7-7.

The Sooners were firing on all cylinders as the offense scored 10 runs off 12 hits and the pitching staff limited the Bulls to one run off four hits.  Baker was one of four Sooners to collect multiple-hit performances as Jamie Johnson (2-for-4, 2 RBIs), Casey Johnson (2-for-5, 2 RBIs), Bryant Hernandez (2-for-4) led the high-powered offense.

"We played a solid game today," said OU Head Coach Sunny Golloway.  "I thought J.R. was effective on the mound and really shut them down. And our offense continues to roll as the season progresses and builds up to the start of Big 12 play."

J.R. Robinson was effective in relief and held the Bulls to two hits over his six innings of work.  While Robinson held the Bulls scoreless, the Sooners handed Derrick Stultz (2-1) his first loss of the season.  Stultz surrendered four runs off five hits and a walk across 3 2/3 innings.

The Bulls jumped on top first after the Sooners were unable to recover from an early error in the first inning.  With two outs on the board, Todd Brazeal singled to center and gave USF a 1-0 lead.

OU made its move in the top of the third inning and took a 3-1 lead.  Baker delivered the big blow in the frame with a two-run shot down the right-field line.  Baker's homer, the third of the season, came after Casey Johnson doubled in Matt Harughty.

In the top of the fourth, the Sooners increased their lead off a two-run double by Jamie Johnson and a RBI single up the middle by Casey Johnson.

USF gave OU an insurance run in the seventh as a passed ball and a throwing error by catcher Trey Manz allowed Jamie Johnson to come around to score.  Baker and J.T. Wise helped OU post another three-spot in the top of the seventh with a RBI single and a sacrifice fly to center field, respectively.

The Sooners conclude play in the USF Bulls Baseball Classic against Eastern Illinois at 11 a.m. CST on Sunday.  The Panthers are also 2-0 in the tournament and 8-4 overall.  Sunday's game will be broadcast via the internet on Oklahoma All-Access, SoonerSports.com.
