NORMAN, Okla. – The NCAA announced two Oklahoma wrestlers – Chad Terry and Jeff James -- as wild card selections for the 2009 NCAA Wrestling Championships. They were two of 52 at-large selections announced Wednesday to advance to St. Louis, March 19-21.
The Sooner duo joins six OU teammates who qualified last weekend at the Big 12 Championships in Lincoln, Neb., including conference champions Joey Fio and Kyle Terry. Pat Flynn also advanced after a third-place finish at Big 12's, as did Ryan Smith, Eric Lapotsky and Nathan Fernandez.
Head coach Jack Spates and his squad will look to add to Oklahoma's impressive postseason resume at the NCAA's that include seven team national championships, 256 All-Americans and 65 individual national champions.
