• Second-ranked Oklahoma pushed its record to a program-best 23-1 (9-0 in Big 12 play) with a 77-72 victory over Colorado (9-13, 1-7 in the Big 12). OU's 23-1 mark is the best in the country.
• Oklahoma's 9-0 conference start is its best since beginning 11-0 in the Big Eight in 1985. Only Kansas has posted a better one-loss start in Big 12 history (34-1 in 1996-97).
• OU improved to 87-48 all-time against the Buffalos and has won 45 of the last 51 meetings. Colorado has now lost 23 straight games in Norman dating back to Feb. 9, 1980, as well as 35 of the last 36.
• Blake Griffin recorded game highs of 26 points and 12 rebounds. He was 11-for-14 from the field to raise his Big 12-leading field goal percentage to .633 on the season.
• Griffin became the fourth sophomore in school history to reach 1,000 career points. He recorded his 1,000th and 1,001st career points on an alley-oop dunk from Willie Warren at the 8:38 mark of the first half. The only other Sooners to reach 1,000 points during their sophomore years were Wayman Tisdale, Alvan Adams and Jeff Webster. Griffin now has 1,018 career points.
• Griffin's double-double was his NCAA-leading 20th of the year. It marked his sixth consecutive double-double, giving him three streaks of six double-doubles this year (only two other players in school history – Alvan Adams and Garfield Heard – have assembled one streak of six straight double-doubles in a season).
• Tony Crocker had 24 points on 7-of-11 shooting from beyond the arc (.636 percent) and also had three rebounds, three assists and a steal in 36 minutes of action. Crocker had scored in single digits each of the last three games and averaged 5.3 in those contests.
• Crocker's seven treys marked a career high (he had made six in a game twice) and tied for the most ever against Colorado in Big 12 play.
• Juan Pattillo came off the bench to supply eight points, a career-high five boards, a career-high three assists and three blocked shots in 27 minutes. He was 3-for-5 from the field.
• OU's 22 assists were its most of the season, surpassing the 21 it had against Maine on Dec. 10. The Sooners made 28 field goals.
• The Sooners shot .571 from the field for their third best mark of the season. OU has shot better from the field than each of its last 11 opponents. Colorado posted a .509 figure today, the highest figure by an OU opponent since Arkansas' .517 on Dec. 30.
