Paris a Senior CLASS Award Finalist

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Oklahoma's Courtney Paris was among the 10 NCAA Division I women's basketball student-athletes identified today as finalists for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award.

An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School, the Senior CLASS Award honors the attributes of senior student-athletes in four areas: classroom, community, character and competition. This is the eighth year the award has recognized seniors in college basketball.

Along with Paris, the women's finalists include Jada Frazier (New Orleans), Rachel Galligan (Eastern Illinois), Shalee Lehning (Kansas State), Renee Montgomery (Connecticut), Koren Schram (Dartmouth), Takia Starks (Texas A&M), Kristi Toliver (Maryland), Abby Waner (Duke) and Christina Wirth (Vanderbilt).

The recipient will be presented with her award during the NCAA Women's Final Four in St. Louis.

The 10 finalists will be placed on the official ballot for a nationwide vote beginning today and concluding March 22. Votes from coaches and media will be coupled with fan balloting to determine the recipient. Fans can vote online at seniorclassaward.com.

For the first time in the basketall division, text voting will also be available during the voting period.
