• Second-ranked Oklahoma pushed its record to a program-best mark of 22-1 (8-0 in Big 12 play) with a 77-71 victory over Texas A&M (17-6, 3-5 in the Big 12).
• The Sooners are the only team in the NCAA with 22 wins. Utah State and Connecticut both have 21-1 records but were off tonight.
• Oklahoma's 8-0 conference start is its best since beginning 11-0 in the Big Eight in 1985. Only Kansas has posted better one-loss starts in Big 12 history (34-1 in 1996-97 and 23-1 in 2007-08).
• The Sooners held Texas A&M without a field goal for a stretch of 5:55 during the first half, ending on a layup by Chinemelu Elonu at the 6:05 mark. Prior to Elonu's bucket to end the streak, OU had pushed its lead from 11-9 to 27-13.
• OU also held A&M without a field goal the final 6:25 of the game. The Aggies missed their last nine shots of the contest. In last season's matchup between the two squads in Norman, the Aggies were held without a point for an NCAA-record 16:12 (the final 12:51 of the first half and the first 3:21 of the second stanza).
• The Sooners were outrebounded 45-31 (20-to-8 on the offensive glass) for their largest deficit of the year. A&M's 45 rebounds tied a season high by an OU opponent (Arkansas).
• Blake Griffin recorded his NCAA-leading 19th double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds. Griffin added four assists for his 13th game this year of at least three handouts (the most in school history by a player standing at least 6-10).
• Willie Warren added 12 points, two rebounds and a steal in 36 minutes of action. Eleven of Warren's 12 points came in the game's final 11:50.
• Taylor Griffin scored 13 points on 4-of-6 field goal and 5-of-6 free throw shooting.
• Austin Johnson also reached double figures with 11 points, four assists and three steals. The Sooners are 22-1 the last two years when he scores at least 10 points.
• Cade Davis had nine first-half points on 3-of-4 shooting from behind the arc in the opening stanza. Davis missed his only attempt after intermission. It was his highest scoring output since netting 10 against Purdue on Nov. 28.
• Juan Pattillo scored seven points, added three rebounds, blocked four shots and recorded a steal in 12 minutes.
• After not playing Saturday at Iowa State, Ryan Wright chipped in with six points and six boards (a team-high four on the offensive end) in 13 minutes off the bench.
• Oklahoma has outshot each of its eight Big 12 foes. The Sooners shot .453 tonight to A&M's .409.
• OU's 22 bench points marked its most in Big 12 play this season.
• Oklahoma improved to 135-52 (.722) all-time against Big 12 teams from Texas (Baylor, Texas, Texas A&M and Texas Tech). It is 83-26 (.761) against those programs since the formation of the Big 12 Conference.
• The Sooners are now 28-4 all-time against Texas A&M and 14-1 in Norman.
