Oklahoma Postgame Notes

December 09, 2009 | Men's Basketball

Dec. 9, 2009

• Senior Tony Crocker scored the first 13 points of the game as Oklahoma jumped out to leads of 13-0 and 20-5 in an 86-62 win over Centenary at Lloyd Noble Center.  Crocker ended the half with 29 points -- his most in a game and a Big 12 record for points in a half.

• Crocker, who scored OU's first 16 points, finished with 33 points and 13 rebounds, marking his second double-double in the last three contests (only two double-doubles of his career).  He scored 25 points by the 9-minute mark of the first half and had more points at halftime (29) than Centenary did (25).

• Crocker's 33 points were the most by a Big 12 player this season.  The 6-6 guard is averaging 19.0 points and 9.3 rebounds over the last four contests.

• Crocker was 10-of-13 (.769) from the field and 7-of-10 from 3-point range in the opening half.  His 10 made baskets in the opening 20 minutes tied the entire Centenary team, while his seven made 3's were three more than the Gents.  He finished 7-for-12 from behind the arc (the seven makes tied a career high).

• Crocker jumped to 27th on OU's career points list with 1,131, surpassing Damon Patterson (1,099), Terry Stotts (1,104) and Kevin Bookout (1,108).

• Crocker surpassed Ryan Minor for fourth on OU's all-time 3-point field goals list with 176.  Crocker trails only Terry Evans (259), Hollis Price (241) and Tim Heskett (215).

• Freshman Tiny Gallon notched his fourth double-double (second most in Big 12) with 16 points and a career-high-tying 15 rebounds.  Eight of Gallon's rebounds came on the offensive end (six offensive boards in the second half).

• Tommy Mason-Griffin dished out a career-high seven assists, all in the first half.  The freshman guard has notched at least five assists in seven of OU's nine games.  Mason-Griffin has 13 assists and just two turnovers over the last two games, and has had more assists than turnovers in all nine contests this season.

• OU outrebounded Centenary 49-33 and outscored the Gents in the paint 38-21. Twenty-six of OU's 38 points in the paint came in the second half.

• The loss was the Gents' worst since dropping a 90-55 decision at Baylor on Nov. 18, 2008 -- a span of 36 games.

• Senior forward Beau Gerber scored a season-high four points (2-of-2 from the field) in just one minute of action.  His two made field goals marked a career best.

• The Sooners (6-3) have won four straight games by an average margin of 20.5 points.

• Oklahoma has won 75 of its last 77 home non-conference games, including each of its last 17.

• OU improved to 5-0 all-time against Centenary (4-0 in Norman by an average margin of 38.0).
