No. 18 Oklahoma hosts Arkansas in a Big 12-SEC matchup at the Lloyd Noble Center Saturday, Dec. 5, at 2 p.m.

ABOUT THE MATCHUP
• Oklahoma is ranked No. 18 in the both the Associated Press and USA Today/ESPN Coaches' Polls.
• Arkansas is not ranked.
• Oklahoma is 5-2 after finishing routing Texas-Arlington Thursday, Dec. 3, in Norman. The Sooners led only 42-41 at halftime, but used a 25-5 run in the first five minutes of the second half to run away.
• Arkansas is 5-2 after defeating Kansas State, 60-58, in Fayetteville on Wednesday, Dec. 2, using a late defensive effort.

The Series
• Arkansas and Oklahoma are meeting for the 15th time, but first since March 14, 1999, when the Razorbacks beat the Sooners, 97-93, in overtime in Fayetteville. OU leads the overall series 8-6 and 5-2 in Norman.

The Coaches
Sherri Coale is 290-134 (.684) in her 14th season at Oklahoma. She has been the Big 12 Coach of the Year four times.
• Arkansas head coach Tom Collen is 40-28 (.588) in his third year at Arkansas and 257-98 (.724) in his 12th overall.

PREVIEWING OKLAHOMA
The Sooners were picked by the league's coaches to finish fifth in the strong Big 12 Conference this season.

The Sooners enter 2009-10 following one of its best seasons in history. Oklahoma notched a program record 32 wins, won its sixth Big 12 regular season title and made its second trip to the Final Four. OU returns eight letterwinners from the squad, including three starters. PreseasonAll-American Danielle Robinson and senior co-captain Amanda Thompson will lead the charge.

 
 Sooner to Watch 

Carlee Roethlisberger | Jr. | Forward
In two starts replacing the injured Whitney Hand in the lineup, Roethlisberger has averaged 20 points, 6.5 rebounds and 44 percent shooting from beyond the arc. Roethlisberger scored a career-high 29 points in the Sooners' last game versus UT-Arlington while playing 35 minutes.

   

PREVIEWING ARKANSAS
Arkansas faces Oklahoma following a win over another Big 12 team in Kansas State Wednesday. The Razorbacks trailed by double-digits with five minutes to go, but used a defensive effort to stun the Wildcats in Fayetteville, 60-58.

Oklahoma is the first ranked opponent for Arkansas this season.

Senior Charity Ford leads the Razorbacks. Ford was the SEC's Sixth Man of the Year in 2009 and, this year, leads her team in scoring with 12.5 points per game.

Ashley Daniels, C'eira Ricketts, Ashley McCray and Lydnsay Harris complete the starting lineup.

Arkansas played four of its first six games on the road and has a 5-1 record.

SDSU WIN SETS MARGIN RECORD
Oklahoma's 87-48 win over then-No. 23 San Diego State set the program record for margin of victory over a ranked opponent.

The game was played Friday, Nov. 27, at the U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam in St. Thomas. OU stormed to a 47-15 halftime lead and never relenquished, winning by 39 points.

The previous OU record for margin of victory over a ranked opponent was 34 points from a 105-71 victory over then-No. DePaul in the 2006-07 season opener on Nov. 12, 2006.

HAND SUFFERS TORN ACL
Sophomore sharpshooter Whitney Hand is out for the season after suffering a torn ACL of her right knee.

Hand was the 2009 Big 12 Freshman of the Year.

The injury occured near the end of the first half of OU's win over San Diego State at the U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam in St. Thomas.

Hand had scored 10 points in 15 minutes at the time of her injury.

COALE'S 300th WIN APPROACHING
Sherri Coale will be aiming for her 291st coaching win when OU hosts Arkansas, Saturday, Dec. 5, at the Lloyd Noble Center.

Coale's first win came in her first game as OU's head coach, a 62-50 victory over Oral Roberts on Nov. 22, 1996.

The 100th win came 170 games later on Feb. 5, 2002, a 69-60 win over then-No. 10 Baylor at Norman.

Win No. 200 came 141 games later on March 8, 2006, a 78-74 win over Iowa State in the first round of the Big 12 Championship.
