Oklahoma Head Coach Sherri Coale
On the first half:
"Our communication was lousy, especially defensively. And we are still trying to figure out who we are without Whitney (Hand) and I thought that we challenged our players to be a source in the second half and they responded."
On Carlee Roethlisberger:
"I thought that she did a great job of filling in for Whitney Hand. I thought that she really played for Whitney and played inspired as teammates should. She just played with a lot of offensive confidence. It is not a surprise to us that she hit the 3, but it was the offensive rebounds and the mid-range jumpers that we like to see.
"We said before Whitney's injury that Carlee and Amanda Thompson were the X-factors. I thought that Carlee was really good tonight and we really needed her tonight."
On Nyeshia Stevenson:
"She really played well. We needed her to knock down baskets and she needed to be really confident about that and I thought that she did. I felt that her confidence, offensively, just looked really good and I think that her going to the rim a couple of times really help her knock down her shots."
On upcoming matchup with Arkansas:
"They're team that just beat Kansas State. So, they are a very good basketball team. Once again we will be facing a team with good speed. You can see that UTA has great speed getting the ball up the court because we had a hard time of limiting their dribble penetration. So we are going to have to do a good job of limiting Arkansas. We will get in the practice gym and get to work."
Oklahoma Senior Guard Nyeshia Stevenson
On being comfortable with her shot:
"A little bit of that goes to my shot doctor (Coach Coale). She really got me in the game, and we grooved it. We didn't necessarily just step out to the 3 first and start shooting. She broke it down and today I felt good about it."
On Carlee Roethlisberger's performance:
"I think she just finally broke out, we see her every day in practice. I think she finally let like, 'okay, it's time, here we go.' Honestly she didn't turn down anything. Nothing she took was bad. I'm really proud of her for not turning down things and attacking the basket like she did."
Oklahoma Junior Forward Carlee Roethlisberger
On her career-high 29 points:
"I have been waiting, I've been practicing hard. Coach (Coale) has been giving me the go ahead and all my teammates have been encouraging. No one can replace Whitney (Hand). Every one of us has to step out on the floor and do what we can to do our best to fill her spot."
On taking more shots in the game:
"If it's a smart shot, anyone on the team is given the go ahead to shoot it. You have to shoot them to make them."
On her overall performance:
"When you're making shots, it helps the rest of your game flow. Your mind is open to think about other things because you're not thinking about your shot and how you have to fix your shot. It definitely helps me to move around and do more things."
UT-Arlington Head Coach Samantha Morrow
On the game:
"We've got to finish a game. We were playing a great basketball program. We wanted to zone them because we needed to but when you have (Carlee) Roethlisberger and (Nyeshia) Stevenson shooting like they did tonight, it's pretty tough. Inside we can't match up man-to-man. We tried, but I think that's what made it really hard to rebound."
On what was different in the second half:
"(Oklahoma) went to the boards. They pressed the boards a lot harder, a little more than in the first half. They hit some shots in the second half right around, in and out, and we missed shots in-and-out in the second half. We can correct some of that stuff."
