• Oklahoma begins the preseason ranked No. 8 in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches' Poll and No. 13 in the Associated Press Poll.
Sherri Coale is 286-132 (.684) in her 14th season at Oklahoma. She has been the Big 12 Coach of the Year four times.
• Oklahoma Christian head coach Stephanie Findley (476-285, .625) is in her 25th season at the helm of the Lady Eagles. Findley has taken OC to the NAIA National Tournament 12 times, including eight of the past 10 seasons. She is a four-time conference coach of the year.

PREVIEWING OKLAHOMA
The Sooners were picked by the league's coaches to finish fifth in the strong Big 12 Conference this season. However, the media has Oklahoma 13th in the Preseason Associated Press Poll trailing only Big 12 foes Baylor and Texas. The ESPN/USA Today Coaches' Poll has the Sooners at No. 8.

The Sooners enter 2009-10 following one of its best seasons in history. Oklahoma notched a program record 32 wins, won its sixth Big 12 regular season title and made its second trip to the Final Four. OU returns eight letterwinners from the squad, including three starters. Preseason Wooden Award candidate Danielle Robinson, the returning Big 12 Freshman of the Year Whitney Hand and senior co-captain Amanda Thompson will lead the charge.

Carlee Roethlisberger | Jr. | Forward
Sherri Coale wants Roethlisberger to take the role of sixth man, like Nyeshia Stevenson was for the team one season ago. Her all-around performance in OU's first exhibition is exactly what the Sooners need every night. Roethlisberger totaled eight points, four rebounds, two assists and steals and had one block in 23 minutes played.

PREVIEWING OKLAHOMA CHRISTIAN
Oklahoma Christian has already begun its regular season, taking an 84-63 victory over Huston-Tillotson in its season opener Saturday.

Freshman Lindsay McCown led OC with 14 points and freshman Roz Hamilton added a double-double.

Kailan DeCamp, an All-SAC and NAIA All-America selection two seasons ago, returns for her senior year. In earning All-SAC honorable mention last year, the 5-6 guard boasted a 7.0 ppg average while shoveling out 3.1 assists per game.

FRIENDLY FOES
Oklahoma sophomore guard Whitney Hand and OC sophomore guard Madison Middle played together as teammates at Liberty Christian High School in Argyle, Texas.
