CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The OU men's golf squad stands 10th after 18 holes of the weather-suspended 2008 Aldila Scenic City Invitational in Chattanooga, Tenn. Thirty-six holes were scheduled for today, but inclement weather forced the cancellation of round two on Monday afternoon. The 16 squads will play the final 36 holes tomorrow at Council Fire Golf Club.
Junior Ben Blundell fired a 2-under-par 70 at the 6,999-yard layout, leading the Sooners in round one with his 18th-place standing.
In his first collegiate action, Riley Pumphrey carded an even-par round of 72, joining teammate Ryan Sirman in a tie for 33rd.
Rounding out the OU scoring were Liam Logan and Tyler Rody, who carded rounds of 75 and 80, respectively. Logan heads to Tuesday's play in a tie for 61st while Rody stands 87th.

"I didn't feel that we were consistent enough in our play, which showed in the scores," said OU Head Coach Jim Ragan. "As a team, we look to eliminate some of those mistakes and put together two solid rounds in order to move up the leaderboard."
Jacksonville State holds a one-shot lead over co-host Chattanooga after firing an 11-under-par 277 on Monday while Matt Carvell of Southeastern Louisiana holds a seven-shot advantage for medalist honors after a course-record, 12-under-par 60. Carvell's round included three eagles, eight birdies and two bogeys.
