Sooners Head to UAB Intercollegiate

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The OU men's golf team returns to the links Monday, Sept. 22, at the fourth-annual Shoal Creek Intercollegiate in Birmingam, Ala. UAB is hosting the 54-hole event at the par-72, 7,114-yard Shoal Creek Country Club.

OU enters the event off of a seventh-place finish at the Aldila Scenic City Invitational on Sept. 9. The Sooners were led by junior Ben Blundell, who finished 10th in Oklahoma's first event of the 2008-09 season.

Auburn, Baylor, East Tennessee State, Georgia Southern, LSU, North Florida, Ole Miss, Texas Tech, Tulsa, UAB and Wake Forest comprise the 12-team field.

The Sooner line-up features Ben Blundell, Liam Logan, Riley Pumphrey, Tyler Rody and Ryan Sirman for the second straight week.

Oklahoma is playing in the event for the second consecutive season as the squad finished fifth in 2007.
