ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The University of Oklahoma men's tennis team went 3-1 on the final day of action at the Navy Invitational Sunday.
Sophomore Ionut Beleleu finished the weekend by defeating Sami Belakhef of Richmond in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0. With a 3-0 record for the weekend, Beleleu took home the No. 2 seed singles title.
Also finishing undefeated and emerging as the No. 3 seed champions was the doubles team of Chase Miller and Arkansas' Matt Walters. The duo defeated Richmond's Rafael Arana and Chester Murray, 8-3.
OU's George Chanturia cruised to victory over Arana, 6-1, 6-0, and finished with a 2-1 record in singles.
Chanturia and Beleleu teamed up for an 8-6 win over Belakhef and Michael Commer to finish the tournament with a 2-1 record. Miller dropped his singles match to Sam Hyland of Richmond 6-4, 6-3 in the No. 6 spot.
Oklahoma went a combined 8-4 at the Navy Invitational and continues fall play Sept. 26-28 at the HEB Baylor Intercollegiate in Waco, Texas.
