NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma's official athletics site, SoonerSports.com, ranked in the top five across the board in CBS College Sports' rankings of the 213 school and conference sites in its network for the past year.
OU ranked No. 3 in overall site traffic for 2007-08, just behind North Carolina and Notre Dame. USC, Penn State, Maryland, Clemson, UCLA, Kansas and Florida State rounded out the top 10.
SoonerSports.com also ranked No. 4 in unique visitors, No. 5 in online store sales and No. 3 in premium site subscribers.
SoonerSports.com provides an integral link between OU student-athletes, their families, coaches, OU students, fans, prospective student-athletes, alumni, media, donors, corporate partners, the University and peer institutions in the Big 12 and the NCAA.
The OU Athletics Department of Internet Services is responsible for presenting the Sooners online. Offices are located in the McClendon Center for Intercollegiate Athletics on the north end of Memorial Stadium in Norman.
The department manages SoonerSports.com, the premium content Oklahoma All-Access site, SoonerSportsMedia.com, TheSoonerClub.com and various championship and promotional sites throughout the year.
OU Athletics Media Relations supplies releases, roster updates, statistics and a myriad of media and fan resources on the site. SoonerVision adds live webcasts and game highlights while OU Athletics Marketing presents numerous fan promotions and features.
SoonerSports.com is a joint partnership between the OU Athletics Department and Sooner Sports Properties. SSP is the multimedia rights holder for athletics at the University of Oklahoma.
