245 on Big 12 Honor Roll

NORMAN, Okla. -- It was another successful year for OU athletics in the classroom with 245 Sooners named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll.
The Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll is an inclusive honor for all sports sponsored by the membership of the league. It recognizes student-athletes who maintain a 3.0 or higher grade point average the previous semester. The honor roll is recorded and released each semester.
Below are some notes about OU's presence on the Honor Roll:
- 46 student-athletes were named with a 4.0.
- Women's track led the 4.0 category with 17 student-athletes achieving perfection, while women's tennis and women's gymnastics were second with four each.
- Baseball, football, men's gymnastics, men's track, women's golf, softball, soccer, women's cross country and volleyball all contributed two or more student-athletes to the 4.0 list.
- Oklahoma had representatives from 13 of its 16 sports achieve 4.0 status.
- Women's gymnastics, women's track, soccer and volleyball had all of their respective student-athletes named to the honor roll.
- Women's track led all sports with 42 student-athletes named to the honor roll, while football led the men's sports with 37.
