SUMMER COLLEGIATE LEAGUES

On June 16, Erben made his first start on the mound and took a no hitter into the ninth inning. However, the effort was broken up after 8 1/3 innings and the New Braunfels, Texas, native finished the game with one hit and six strikeouts in the complete-game victory.
Also in the Alaska Baseball League, Matt Haraughty and Antwonie Hubbard began play for the Anchorage Glacier Pilots last week while Garrett Richards and Michael Rocha join Erben with the Mat-Su Miners.
Jamie Johnson got off to a strong start for the Bourne Braves in the Cape Cod League. Johnson is hitting .364 while scoring two runs through three games.
Also in the Cape Cod League, Aaron Baker is playing for the Warehem Gatemen and J.T. Wise is with the Harwich Mariners.

OKLAHOMA IN THE MINORS
Daniel McCutchen (Scranton-Wilkes Barre Yankees) had his best outing of Class AAA ball on June 14 where he allowed zero runs and six hits to earn his first victory at that level. McCutchen recorded four strikeouts through nine innings and is 1-4 on the year with a 3.65 ERA.
Also in Class AAA, David Purcey (Syracuse Chiefs) has tossed 81 1/3 innings with an ERA of 2.42 and 88 strikeouts.
The most recent Sooner to make his debut in the minors is Mike Gosse. Fresh off a successful senior season and getting drafted in the 21st round of the 2008 MLB Draft, Gosse made his debut with the Oneonta Tigers in the New York Penn League (Class A Short Season) earlier this week. He drove in two runs off a single on June 17 in his first professional game and followed that up with a 2-for-5 performance on June 18 with two runs scored. After two games, the British Columbia, native is hitting .375 for the Detroit Tigers' affiliate.
SOONERS IN THE MAJORS
Jason Bartlett (Tampa Bay Rays) is riding a five-game hitting streak and hitting .500 during that span with four RBIs and three stolen bases. Through 67 games the former Sooner has a .254 batting average with 15 stolen bases and 60 hits.
In his first year with the Houston Astros Geoff Geary has thrown eight scoreless relief appearances in his last 10 games. Geary has put together a solid season with a 1-1 record and a 2.49 ERA in 25 outings.
