Sooners Stand Seventh at Big 12's

TRINITY, Texas - The University of Oklahoma men's golf squad stands seventh after 54 holes of the 2008 Big 12 Championship at Whispering Pines Golf Club in Trinity, Texas. The Sooners shot a third-round team score of 308 (+20) on Saturday at the par 72, 7,470-yard layout.
Leading the way was freshman Liam Logan, who fired a 3-under-par 69 and jumped from 38th to a tie for 22nd with one round remaining.
Joining Logan in 22nd is sophomore Jesse Schutte as the Florence, Ore., native carded a 4-over-par 76 on the morning.
Fellow sophomore Tyler Rody entered the third round in third place but shot an 86 on Saturday to fall into a tie for 31st. The Andover, Kan., product was one of only two players to card back-to-back under-par rounds through 36 holes.
Two shots behind Rody is senior Phillip Bryan who has fired rounds of 76, 74 and 79 and stands at +13 in 36th place. Rounding out the OU scoring was Eric Durbin's round of 84 as the sophomore sits in 59th.
Overnight leader Oklahoma State extended its lead to 16 shots over host squad Texas Tech as the Cowboys notched a 5-under team effort on Saturday.
OSU's Kevin Tway leads the individual race at -6. Tway carded a 2-under-par 70 on Saturday to take a one-shot lead into the final round over teammate and overnight co-leader Rickie Fowler and Texas Tech's Garrett Merrell.
