TRINITY, Texas - The OU men's golf team stands fifth after 36 holes of the 2008 Big 12 Championship, held in Trinity, Texas, at Whispering Pines Golf Club.  Paced by Tyler Rody's third-place standing, the Sooners carded rounds of 295 (+7) and 297 (+9) at the Par 72, 7470-yard layout.

Rody fired rounds of 70 and 71 and stands just one shot behind the Oklahoma State duo of Rickie Fowler and Kevin Tway who lead the tournament at -4.  Rody was one of only two golfers in the field to card back-to-back red-figure rounds.

In a tie for 16th is Jesse Schutte, who carded rounds of 73 and 74.  Three shots back of Shutte at +6 is lone upperclassman Phillip Bryan. 

Rounding out the OU scoring were Liam Logan and Eric Durbin who stand at +10 and +17, respectively.

OSU was the only team in red figures after day one, holding a 15-shot lead through 36 holes over second-place Texas. 

The Sooners will tee off at 9 a.m. CDT from the first tee and are paired with tournament-host Texas Tech and Baylor.
