Head Coach K.J. Kindler
Opening Comment
"I didn't think we showed the kind of team we are.  I am pretty disappointed with the final score. I feel like we are a much better team than we have showed in the last three weeks. Performance wise, we have a lot more potential."

"Balance beam... we have practiced so well on beam and it was completely unexpected to be that way.  In high pressure meets like this, the teams that are tough really stand out and I don't think we showed our toughness on that event. We're much better than that. That was a disappointment. Floor was excellent and on vault I think there is much room for improvement, as well as on bars. I don't think we hit our potential on either of those events. So there is a lot of room for improvement.  I think we would surprise a lot of people if we came out and did what we are capable of."

On the disappointment:
"I think it's just a disappointment because we always expect the best out of ourselves and I don't think we gave our best today.  I know they all gave their best effort but I don't think we gave our best performance ultimately. They are always out there giving 200%, there is no doubt about that. So the disappointment comes from a lack of performing to your capability."

On the bye following beam:
"I think the bye probably helped us a little.  We got to gather our heads and realize what it was going to take to qualify on. At that point, that's what we were going for, that was the goal at hand-- to get to second place.  We gathered our heads a little bit in the locker room and had a good talk.  Floor is an adrenaline event, so I was hoping that their anger would build up over the next 30 minutes while they were waiting to go and that would come out on floor."

On her thoughts following vault:
"Will it be enough? Was that enough? And you have to sit and wait and it is very difficult to do.  You're basically at the hands of other people on the floor who have the opportunity to continue competing. It's a waiting game at that point. You always want to be on the floor that last rotation, I know I would have preferred it.  In the end, you get whatever rotation you get and we had to sit and watch.  We had put ourselves in a position where we had to be concerned."

On the team's mindset entering the meet:
"Our mindset coming into this meet was that we were going to hit 6-6. 24 routines out of 24. We've been practicing everyday in the gym, we do team events and we hit 6-6 and we showed good results.  We build off that confidence and we came into this meet thinking that we were confident and we could do this."

On qualifying:
"We're going to get back in the gym, keep working harder and polish more routines and more team events.  We're just going to shine like we always do."

On watching Illinois on beam:
"It was pretty nerve wrecking, we didn't really know what to expect.  We didn't know what they needed. We just sat and watched patiently and we waited to see what the outcome was.  God knows we were crying inside too."
