WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. - The University of Oklahoma men's golf squad finished in ninth place at the USC Collegiate Invitational in Westlake Village, Calif., on Tuesday, after firing a final round 299 (+15), its lowest round of the tournament.

The Sooners bested three ranked squads at the 6869-yard, par-71 North Ranch Country Club layout, including No. 3 UCLA, who finished 25 shots behind OU.

Oklahoma was led by senior Phillip Bryan who stood 14th after rounds of 77, 76 and 71. Bryan's even-par final round was the lowest score by an OU golfer during the 54-hole event.

Four shots back was freshman Liam Logan who finished in a tie for 30th (78, 74, 76).

The duo of Ben Blundell and Jesse Schutte finished in a pack at +19, standing in a tie for 45th.

Rounding out the OU scoring was Tyler Rody who finished 64th, but carded a final-round 73 after starting the tournament with back-to-back 82s.

Tournament host and eighth-ranked Southern California took home the team title with a three-round total of 885 (+33). Competing as an individual, USC's Tim Sluiter won medalist honors at +5, one stroke better than fellow Trojan Matthew Giles.
