NORMAN, Okla.,- The University of Oklahoma women's tennis team (7-6, 0-2) travels to Kansas for the weekend to resume Big 12 play against Kansas (5-7, 0-2) and Kansas State (5-7, 1-2). 

The Sooners first stop will be in Lawrence, Kan., Friday, March 28, where they will face the Jayhawks, starting at 11 a.m.  OU will than head to Manhattan, Kan., for a Saturday meeting with Kansas State. 

"We are excited to get back into Big 12 play," OU head coach Mark Johnson said.  "The break was good, but we are ready for conference play to begin in full swing."

Oklahoma enters the weekend after breaking from Big 12 matches to play Jacksonville University and TCU during the spring break week.  In its last match, OU fell 6-1 to then No.19 TCU, Saturday, March 22, in Fort Worth, Texas. 

The Sooners are currently 0-2 in the Big 12 after dropping to Texas and Texas A&M in their Big 12 opening weekend. 

Friday's match-up will mark the 33rd meeting of the two teams, with Kansas currently leading the series 18-15.  The two teams last met in the first round of 2007 Big 12 Tournament on April 26, 2007, where OU walked away with a 4-3 win. 

Kansas State enters Saturday's match looking to end a two-match losing streak.   Oklahoma currently leads the series with the K-State 20-12.  The Sooners and the Wildcats last met on March 31, 2007 in Norman, where Oklahoma claimed a 4-3 victory.

"It will be a great weekend for our team," Johnson said.  "Both teams have strong programs.  We will have to come out and play really tough."
