Oklahoma advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament with a 69-61 win over Illinois State Sunday. The Sooners will play Notre Dame Tuesday at approximately 8 p.m. Central at Mackey Arena in West Lafayette, Ind. The game will be televised on ESPN2 and aired on the Sooner Sports Radio Network.
The Sooners started the first 4:30 of the second half with a 13-0 run to push the score to 44-29.
Oklahoma's all-time NCAA Tournament first round record improved to 8-2. OU is 6-2 all-time in the second round, including a 5-1 record when being the higher seed.
The Sooners improved to 21-0 on the season when attaining a lead of eight points or more during the game.
The game was the 35th in which both Ashley and Courtney Paris scored in double figures. OU has a 30-5 record in that situation.
Ashley Paris
Paris turned in a 11-point second half after scoring just two points in the first period.
Courtney Paris
Paris recorded her 91st career double-double. The junior has 96 career double-doubles in 99 games played.
Jenna Plumley
Plumley matched a career high with six rebounds.
Rose Hammond
Hammond scored a career high 12 points. Hammond's eight first-half points were a career high for a half.
Carlee Roethlisberger
Roethlisberger made her first field goal since scoring against Texas A&M on Feb. 12. She finished the game with four points from a 2-for-5 effort.
Amanda Thompson
Thompson matched a season high with four blocks.
