NORMAN, Okla. --  The University of Oklahoma women's cross country team was recognized for its academic achievements Tuesday by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as it was named to the organization's 2007 All-Academic Teams list.

The Sooner women received the honor after achieving a team GPA of 3.44 during the 2007-08 academic year. Two team members, senior Catherine Odell and freshman Christina Ferber, recorded perfect 4.0 cumulative GPAs.

In addition to Odell and Ferber, freshman Kelly Waters recorded a 4.0 GPA in the 2007 fall semester.

The OU women finished ninth in the NCAA Midwest Regional after claiming sixth in the Big 12 Championships. Senior Jessica Eldridge closed our her collegiate career with a fourth consecutive trip to the NCAA Championships.
