NORMAN, Okla. -- It was the most clutch shot by an Oklahoma men's basketball player in years.
With his Sooners trailing 64-63 at Texas Tech on Saturday and time quickly expiring, David Godbold received a pass from Austin Johnson and let it fly. His 28-foot bomb hit nothing but net and gave OU a two-point victory. It also gave Texas Tech its first loss this season on its home court.
More importantly for OU, the win was its second straight and improved the Sooners to 17-8 on the year and into a fifth-place tie in the Big 12 race at 5-5.
Was Godbold's shot the type of play that catapults the Sooners toward a strong regular season finish and an NCAA Tournament berth? They won't have to wait long to find out what kind of carry-over effect Saturday's win will have.

That's because the Sooners host fellow fifth-place team Baylor on Tuesday at 7 p.m. inside Lloyd Noble Center. Tickets start at $10. Family Packs are also available for Tuesday's game. For $10, fans receive a game ticket, a hot dog, a soft drink and a coupon for a free OU T-shirt from OU Authentic (a minimum purchase of four tickets is required).
