NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- Tony Crocker scored 22 points to lead Oklahoma to a 76-64 victory over Iowa State on Wednesday night.

Crocker helped the struggling Sooners, who had lost three straight Big 12 Conference games, take control behind a 14-0 run midway through the opening half. That turned a 1-point deficit into a 22-9 lead and Oklahoma never trailed again.

The Sooners (16-8, 4-5 Big 12) also got big contributions from Blake Griffin, Austin Johnson and Cade Davis, who came off the bench to score 11 points. Griffin had 13 points and eight rebounds, while Johnson finished with 13 points and six boards.

Iowa State (13-12, 3-7) was led by Jiri Hubalek?s 23-point performance. But despite connecting on 8 of 19 3-pointers, the Cyclones shot only 39.7 percent from the field (23 of 58).

Down 9-8 just under six minutes into the contest, Crocker buried a 3-pointer that gave the Sooners the advantage for good. Consecutive buckets by Taylor Griffin and Longar Longar was followed by another Crocker trey that made it 18-9, and Johnson capped the run with another 3-pointer at the 9:50 mark.

The Cyclones, however, wouldn't go easily and stayed within striking distance by dialing it up from long distance down the stretch of the opening half.

Iowa State got 3-pointers from Hubalek, Bryan Peterson and Wesley Johnson that cut Oklahoma's lead to 24-22 with 5:47 left before intermission. But the Sooners kept the Cyclones at arms? length, as Austin Johnson scored six points during a span of 2:25 that helped keep his team in front 38-32 at the break.

Oklahoma was bolstered by the return of Longar, who had missed back-to-back games with a broken bone in his right leg. The senior post player was on the floor for 27 minutes and contributed six point and five rebounds, along with some solid defense,

Second-chance baskets by Longar and Crocker pushed the lead to 54-42 with just over 12 minutes left and Iowa State got no closer than six the rest of the way.
