SOONER BASEBALL CENTRAL
2008 OU Baseball Media Guide

NORMAN, Okla. -- Soonersports.com brings fans the 12th installment of the Baseball Newcomer Spotlights with a focus on junior RHP Jarrett Semler.

In preparation for the 2009 season, Soonersports.com will help fans get to know the new faces around the diamond at L. Dale Mitchell Park.

Semler comes to Norman after spending the last two seasons at Cypress College in California.  In 2008, Semler led the team in appearances (24) and saves (4) while posting a 2-1 record in 33 2/3 innings.

Throughout the rest of the semester, SoonerSports.com will feature one of the Sooners' 15 newcomers that will join a group of 18 letterwinners from the 2008 team that advanced to the Tempe Regional Finals before falling to then-No. 4 Arizona State.

Each spotlight will include an updated bio, Q&A session and videos of each player in action from the Red/White Series and a scouting report from OU Head Coach Sunny Golloway.

Semler is a native of Glendora, Calif. where he played prep baseball at Glendora H.S.  The right hander made two appearances in the fall Red/White Series and recorded the win in the finale.  Semler was 1-0 in the series with seven strikeouts in five innings of relief.

Click the links to the right to watch footage of Robinson from fall practice and listen to Coach Golloway as he breaks
down the newcomer's recruiting process, his progress throughout the fall, and his possible role in 2009.
