NORMAN, Okla. -- The seventh installment of SoonerSports.com's Baseball Newcomer Spotlights focuses on freshman outfielder Jordan Imhoff.
In preparation for the 2009 season, Soonersports.com will help fans get to know the new faces around the diamond at L. Dale Mitchell Park.
Imhoff is an Arlington, Texas, native that lettered the last three years at James W. Martin High School. The Sooner hit .354 with eight homers and 41 RBIs as a senior after helping lead his team to regional finals during his junior season. In 2007, Imhoff set school records as a junior for most hits (64), homers (16) and RBIs (61) in a single season. In addition, he hit .444 as a junior, the fourth-highest mark in school history.
Throughout the rest of the semester, SoonerSports.com will feature one of the Sooners' 15 newcomers that will join a group of 18 letterwinners from the 2008 team that advanced to the Tempe Regional Finals before falling to then-No. 4 Arizona State.
Each spotlight will include an updated bio, Q&A session and videos of each player in action from the Red/White Series and a scouting report from OU Head Coach Sunny Golloway.
Imhoff has been honored as an all-state player in each of the last three years and was rated the 110th best prospect in the nation by Baseball America and 430th by Perfect Game for the 2008 class.
