SOONER BASEBALL CENTRAL
2008 OU Baseball Media Guide

NORMAN, Okla. -- The fifth installment of SoonerSports.com's Baseball Newcomer Spotlights features junior Kaleb Herren.

In preparation for the 2009 season, Soonersports.com will help fans get to know the new faces around the diamond at L. Dale Mitchell Park.

Herren is a two-way player (OF/RHP) and is one of five players from the 2009 recruiting class that hails from the state of Oklahoma.  The Midwest City, Okla., native played the last two years at North Central State College where he was a 2008 Preseason All-American.

Throughout the rest of the semester, SoonerSports.com will feature one of the Sooners' 15 newcomers that will join a group of 18 letterwinners from the 2008 team that advanced to the Tempe Regional Finals before falling to then-No. 4 Arizona State.

Each spotlight will include an updated bio, Q&A session and videos of each player in action from the Red/White Series and a scouting report from OU Head Coach Sunny Golloway.

Herren drove in 103 runs in his two years at North Central and hit .418 with 15 homers last season.

The Sooner played high school baseball at Carl Albert where he was the 2006 team captain and named to the all-state squad.
