Roethlisberger went 4-for-5 from 3-point range to lead the Sooners' 10-for-22 performance, while Hand, Nyeshia Stevenson and Jenny Vining each hit a pair from long range.
Outside shooting was an Achilles' heel for Oklahoma last season, as the Sooners shot only 24 percent from 3-point range. That allowed defenders to sag in on All-America center Courtney Paris and disrupt the offense.
At least so far, the Sooners are showing they could be better from long range.
Stevenson and Vining each had four 3-pointers as Oklahoma went 13-for-28 in its exhibition opener against Western State, and finished the preseason shooting at a 46 percent clip from beyond the arc.
The level of competition will pick up from here, but it's at least a step forward from the 37 percent Oklahoma shot in its two exhibition games prior to last season.
Paris didn't record her usual double-double, but this game didn't count toward her streak of 92 in a row with at least 10 points and 10 rebounds. She had 12 points and nine rebounds in 20 minutes.
Stevenson added 15 points, while Ashley Paris, Amanda Thompson and Abi Olajuwon scored 10 apiece. Ashley Paris also had 11 rebounds as Oklahoma dominated the boards 44-21.
Kailan DeCamp led Oklahoma Christian, an NAIA school, with 13 points.
