OKLAHOMA CITY -- The OU Rowing team competed in the University's first ever regatta today in downtown Oklahoma City at the Oklahoma City University Head of the Oklahoma.

The W4+ finished with a time of 17:07 in the top 10 out of a field of 32, defeating Big 12 conference opponent Kansas. The four team consisted of Meagan Harrell, Teddi Dwyer, Chelsea Moore, and Michael Owen and was coxed by Bronwyn Tawney.

"I'm proud of the way the four raced today," Crain said. "For the first competition in the history of the program, and only a few weeks on the water, I'm pleased with finishing in the top 10."

The festival also held a Corporate Rowing Challenge on Friday night, in which OU Athletic Department employees Gloria Nevarez and Stephanie Rempe participated. Coached by graduate assistant Megan Mitchell, the team placed first in the event.

The OU squad will row again Sunday, Oct. 5 at 8:45 and 9:45 a.m.
