Daescu Continues to Roll

Daescu Selected for Indoor Nationals

NORMAN, Okla. – University of Oklahoma junior Andrei Daescu was chosen by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association as one of five at-large selections to participate in the 2008 National Indoor Championships, hosted by the University of Virginia.

The Indoor Championships begin at the Boar's Head Sports Club in Charlottesville, Va., Thursday Nov. 6, with the champion crowned Sunday, Nov. 9.

“We are extremely proud of Andrei for making this prestigious event,” said OU head coach Paul Lockwood. “He will represent both himself in the university in a great fashion.”

Daescu, ranked No. 22 by the ITA, posted a 5-2 record in his first two events of the fall, including victories over No. 26 Austen Childs of Louisville and Baylor's No. 44-rated Dominik Mueller at the ITA All-American earlier this month.
